We have a lot of wild roses on our forest floor, and they have been paid wonderful homage with these stud earrings!

The petals of these blooms are hand-cut from copper or silver sheet metal then shaped, rounded and textured to petal-goodness perfection. The center and post are formed from argentium silver then soldered into place.

Each bloom is about 8 mm in diameter, and the post is 20 gauge silver. Copper petals are untreated and can be kept polished bright or left to develop a natural patina over time. Photos show copper straight out of the polisher, and after about a month without polishing. If your skin is sensitive to copper, you may want to dab a bit of wax or clear nail polish on the backs of the petals around the post to keep them from coming into direct contact with the skin. Stud earrings come with comfortable, soft plastic backs.

Silver is 0.925 sterling. Sterling silver is nickel-free which makes it suitable for most people with metal allergies.
