This gorgeous two-piece hair decoration is entirely hand-fabricated from solid sterling silver, and looks straight from a secret garden wall! Both pieces are slightly bent so the clasp lays flat against the head and is comfortable even when leaning back against a head-rest. They are designed to be placed with the concave faces together, then the stick is twisted 180 degrees to tighten the clasp and fix the decoration securely in the hair.

The sheet silver base is hammered, work-hardening the silver so the fit will remain snug over time. The pin has been rolled through a mill and hammered to achieve the same result. The ivy leaves and vines are entirely hand-fabricated and each tip is soldered to minimize snags. The silver is oxidized to accentuate the depth and texture of the metalwork.

This is a piece rugged enough for daily wear and beautiful enough for a night on the town! As with all clips made in this style, this piece would also be beautifully functional as a cloak, shawl, hat or scarf pin when paired with a loose-knit fabric.

When bent, the pin measures 13.9 cm long and its ring has a diameter or 2.0 cm. The ivy piece (also measured when bent) is 9.3 cm long and 2.5 cm wide. This piece will work as a stand-alone hair clip in most hair. If your hair is especially thick it may not hold it all, and if your hair is especially thin you may want to use it in conjunction with another hair tie. Silver is 0.925 sterling.
